American as Apple Pie

Blazer: Gap, Button up: F21, Jeggings: Wal Mart, Shoes: F21, Kiddos, borrowed

These are the adorable little nuggets that I hung out with all day. We had an awesome time playing tag and fetch in the yard with the big yellow dog, making a fort out of the kitchen table, and mowing down gourmet chicken nuggets at Mickey D's. Sometimes it's good just to revert back to your childish inhibitions...except for I kinda do that a lot. But today was especially fun. So much excitement. Poor Cutter is probably utterly exhausted, but he would have traded me in an instant for those two balls of snack-dropping energy. Shallow.

I felt really all-American today. I'm a little surprised that no one walked up to me and handed me an apple pie or anything. They must not have received that memo...patriotic outfits deserve a dose of apple pie. With ice cream. So, patriotic I was today, even if I didn't get treated to my favorite apple confection. Hence the pictures in the woods, they looked lumberjackish. So maybe that makes me a lumberjill...or Jane and everyone knows that that is very American. Oh wait, you actually have to chop wood for that and not just take pictures sporting a plaid shirt in a forest? Never mind then. I'll just stick to admiring my new (cheapo $22) shoes. My dad saw them and said they looked like coffee with a lot of cream. I think I love them. Now let me go dig out something appley, cider maybe?

Tonight we feast on fajitas, watch yet another movie rental from that magical little invention called the Red Box, and kick some tail at Taboo. Until tomorrow my friends!

One of Those Days

Blazer: Ann Taylor Loft, Blouse: NY and Co., Jeans: Belk, Shoes: Shoe Station (Rocket Dog), Earrings: F21
So, welcome to the gates of my humble abode. Not really. Actually, we just trespassed our little heels right up to someone else's amazingly beautiful gates for this little photo shoot. Then we got scared because our ounce of rebel brevity ran out and we scooted said little heels right back to the car. If these are your gates. Thank you for A) not calling the police and B) keeping them so beautifully maintained. Nice landscaping. I felt like I had stepped into an Este Lauder ad. Except for the makeup because as previously stated, I do not appear to have been airbrushed daily by a professional. Although that would be really cool. Why can't my face be viewed through the lens of photoshop??? Instead, I just took pictures from a distance today to keep from having to edit out the third eye which is creeping up in the middle of my forehead. I'm pretty lazy like that most days...especially today, because it happened to be a particularly lazy one. For those of you that didn't follow that...I am breaking out. Oh the joys of my temperamental skin. Why I try to hide secrets just to blast the truth right out to you guys I don't know. I guess I'm just Abe.
While I'm being all honest and such, I will admit to you that I did not actually wear this outfit anywhere. Except to these lovely gates...and to my gma's for about five minutes. I had big intentions of taking it out on the town...but those fell through. So I think I will wear it for New Years Eve because it looks awful New Yearsy, don't you think? Sparkly, girly, and a little bit rocker with the new skinnies. Just don't tell anyone that it was previously worn, K? And Dusty, if you are reading this, just pretend you haven't seen it.
So tonight, Dusty (he informed me that he didn't like being called boyfriend as he was reading my blog the other night. He's always been supportive of the blog but just started reading Dusty it is...Dusty, if you are reading, Hi!...everybody say hi Dusty...altogether now...hi Dusty! Maybe I can convince him to share his thoughts someday.) and I ran some errands and then enjoyed a romantic dinner of nuggets, fries, and chili from Wendy's by the soft glow of the weather channel storm reports. Sometimes you just need those nights. Hope you enjoyed yours too!

I Want to Know What Love Is

Sporting my new Christmas gifts today! YAAY for my mom being so good at picking out clothes for me!!!
Infinity Scarf: Charolette Russe, Sweater: NY and Co., Skirt: {new} F21, Tights: American Eagle, Shoes{completely love them} Shoe Station, Ring: F21, Belt: borrowed, Earrings: flirties

I don't know if I was just really feeling really romantic or something today or if it's that stores just kind of jump into Valentines Day before they can even put their Christmas decorations away, but I was just leanin' towards pink today with a little bit of animal print. I think Cutter liked the look. He gets really curious about the whole camera thing. So I decided he could be in one. Diva.

So, surprise surprise...we went shopping again today. After work, of course. I think I must have spent an hour and 1/2 in Forever 21. I could pretty much live there. I think they would frown on that, but I would be wonderfully dressed every day and I could just pop into MAC next door and have them do my makeup and I'd be all set. I am slightly disfunctional some days in the arena of makeup. Some days it appears that I have a black I usually stick to simple stuff. Thank goodness they haven't offered me a job. I would spend my whole paycheck on merchandise. Fortunately, I escaped with only a button up, a new pencil skirt, and a cute pair of shoes that I will model for you soon. Well, as soon as it gets a little warmer. Probably for like three days straight because I tend to get all excited about new clothes and not take them off. Well maybe to wash. I like to keep things sanitary around here sometimes.

Life is pretty slow around here but I like it. So I apologise if I begin to sound like a broken record. Don't worry though. Soon I will have school to complain about. Oh, the possibilities. On a more positive note, a miracle was just worked on my final grades. That was the only time I have ever checked my Blackboard with a smile on my face. I could seriously dance right now. But I won't because it's really cold and I am all snuggie in my blankie and such and wouldn't want to disrupt anything. I was really depressed with my grade and I just found out that the prof had messed up with the finals. Whew...I will try to contain myself.

Much love to you you all!

Wild Horses Couldn't Drag Me Away

Jacket: Gap, Blouse: Abercrombie (with new neckline made by me), Necklace: F21, Broach on necklace: crafted, Gloves: gift, Ring: F21, Belt: thrifted, Skirt: F21, Knee highs: Target, Shoes: Madden Girl
I wore a lot of clothes today. It was cold.
So, this blog has sort of taken a turn towards the fashion/style arena. Or what I wore today and other funny stories. That's just kind of where I am right now. I hope you guys like it. And forgive the overexposed pictures. I gave mom my camera to use and forgot to change the ISO and didn't realize it until later. Plus I am ignorant of such programs as photoshop because Santa didn't bring that. Hopefully I will get it soon :(. Until then, enjoy my meager editing. Thanks.

I totally felt like I should be galloping side-saddle (of course did you notice the tightness of that skirt?) through the English countryside today. If, in fact, you do gallop side saddle. I wouldn't know because I have never actually ridden English before. Is that overly descriptive for an outfit? I tend to have a really vivid imagination which other people often don't get and I end up explaining things to the wind as their patience trails off and I completely lose them. Also, this is one of my most favorite songs. Ever. Keep that in mind. I will be having a quiz later. I kid. Maybe.
Speaking of dressing for the occasion, we were in the mall the other day. We includes boyfriend which made this extra hilarious because boyfriend carries around this blank expression through the mall as if he doesn't understand why people would want to slowly brush through racks of clothing without actually buying anything. Tools and fishing gear? Yes. Clothes? No. He's not in it for the hunt, he's in it for the kill. Or buy. Whatever. So anyway, we were in Ann Taylor Loft {LOVE} admiring some lovely jackets and I noticed the picture ad on the wall above boasted a beautiful girl in a lovely dress with amazing red knee-high boots {super vogue}. On a lake. With a fishing rod. If boyfriend ever actually takes me fishing with him, that is what I will wear. That's probably why he hasn't taken me yet.
So yesterday, me and mom made the drive over to Thomasville, GA. If you live anywhere near here. Go. Seriously, it's like a spin off on Asheville except smaller and more manageable so you can explore all the shops in just a day and the restaurants are fabulous. Jonah's is one of our faves for dinner. Fish and grits baby. But gourmet. We noshed on some George and Louie's. Our lunch was to die for...ok, well it was a hamburger, but the best one I have had in a while (you know, the kind with the toasted, buttered bun with just the right amount of pickles and that mayo sauce that just oozes out when you go to take a bite) and I eat A LOT of hamburgers. But aside from the food, the displays are just wonderful. I saw this one lighting feature that I would LOVE to recreate with a large crate suspended from the ceiling with bare bulbs stuck into the lids of mason jars hanging from it. Trust me, it was awesome and I want it..maybe with tea lights for an outdoor party or something...
Yesterday was pretty much amazing, just being able to play all day without worrying about homework and then snuggling up with honey, a loaded baked potato, and a good movie (Four Christmases...I know I'm behind, but I hadn't seen it and it was if you are behind too, I would recommend it!) I. Don't. Want. To. Go. Back! [insert stomping of foot] Yes, I often turn into a pouty child when I don't get my way. It's very appealing. It doesn't really work. But boyfriend usually offers hugs and chocolate, so that kind of makes things better.
I will leave you with a final quote that I saw yesterday which currently has my heart. I may have to find a way to craft this into home decor:
You can't buy happiness but you can buy marshmallows...which are kind of the same thing.

Ok, love to you guys!

Oh yeah baby. I broke all the rules with this one. Black, brown AANNDD navy and plaid on plaid. So so so scandalous!

Oh there's no Place Like Home...

For Christmas Eve...

and Christmas morning too!

We had an amazing Christmas with all of our family...both furry and hairless. The only bad part is the inevitable return to the real world in just a few days time. Why is it that cold is festive up until Christmas and then after, it's just cold...and miserable? Ok, well to be fair, yesterday it was still fun but only because it snowed. Well actually, it flurried. Is that a word? Flurried? We Floridians know not of such. That was really exciting for us. So much so that we stood outside in our meager Floridian winter garb in 30 degree weather just so we could watch it fall. For about five minutes. Then we got cold. Don't laugh. Or do, because it is rather funny. And sad.

Anywho, I got completely spoiled beyond belief this year with an INCREDIBLE new Canon speedlight!!!!! a new Canon camera bag (I feel so professional now!), clothes, shoes, new makeup and brushes that I needed incredibly bad bad bad and lots of other wonderful amazingness. I feel so loved by all of my wonderful family and of course my honey...who you can see sporting his new suit above. Isn't he a hottie?!?! We thought he could use some professional attire for his upcoming interviews with graduation approaching and friends getting married and such.

As you can see, we ate well. Two fried turkeys in two days, party food, sticky buns, stuffing coming out of our ears. But not really, because that would be gross. Now, my only problem is that I have spent the last four (plus) days eating and sleeping and now all I want to do is eat and sleep. That's attractive, right?
Now I will sign off to go drink apple cider and devour my new Southern Living that I got in the mail today and pretend that I do not actually have to return to work and school shortly. You should do the same.
